Reporting live in January 2020, Gutman found himself in the throes of an on-air panic attack—and not for the first time. But Gutman’s January 2020 broadcast was noteworthy for all the wrong reasons. Mid-panic he would misstate the facts of a story, a blunder that led to a month-long suspension. It was a wake-up call. Gutman’s panic attacks were too much for him to bear in secret. He needed help. So begins the author's personal journey into the science and treatment of panic attacks.

Franco unpacks the latest, often counterintuitive findings about the bonds between us—for example, why your friends aren’t texting you back (it’s not because they hate you!), and the myth of “friendships happening organically” (making friends, like cultivating any relationship, requires effort!).

When you let go, you live intuitively. Everything flows, because you are no longer attached to things being a certain way, to being a certain person or always being right. What a relief. The irony is that when you feel stuck in any area of your life - career, relationships, purpose, health or money - letting go can seem very hard. You cling on for dear life just at the moment you need to take the leap. In The Power of Letting Go, John Purkiss explains why we should let go and how we can do it, using proven techniques to make things happen.

Health and wellness campaigns preach avoidance of unhealthy foods, sedentary lifestyles, tobacco, drugs, and alcohol, but rarely preach avoidance of unhealthy, difficult, or toxic people. Yet the health benefits of removing toxic people from your life may have far greater benefits to both physical and psychological health. We need to learn to be better gatekeepers for our minds, bodies, and souls. Narcissism, entitlement, and incivility have become the new world order, and we are all in trouble. Comforting and Applicable
This book has provided a lot of comfort for me while evaluating some of my closest relationships. It has also caused me to do a lot of self-reflection and self work. I feel like I have the tools I need to make healthier lasting relationships and salvage some of my closest, strained ones.

Great book but robotic narrator...
Informative and helpful book about friendship difficulties. This was just what I needed to deal with my friend who is self-absorbed and unavailable!

Great help
This is very insightful. It’s basically affirming everything. I already knew that the friendship I have is extremely toxic and needs to end it basically over already. I just need to accept it and just move on. But like stated it’s not that easy. I really regret now not having more than just the one friend because now I have nobody. And that’s one reason why I’ve continued to accept what little bit of friendship this person has been willing to offer. this book has however helped me realize that once I cut off this friendship it’ll open up the possibility of many more friendships, so will be a lot healthier

Boring and patronizing
Awful. Don’t waste your time. Unless you’re a 10 year old trying to learn about friends, you don’t need this book. At all.
